Approaching the New Year, we have the Pantone Colors of the Year for 2021. Yes, I am not mistaking, Pantone has inovated, and they have selected two colors instead of one. A way to illustrate our mood after a estrange period.
However, this is not the first time Pantone Institute chooses two colors.
Back to 2016, the colors of the year were Rose Quartz and Serenity Blue a combination which reflected gender equality issues.
The two colors selected for 2021 are Illuminating Yellow and Ultimate Gray.
A combination that reflects the positivity, confidence in our future as well as the strength need in our transition to the “new reality”.
In other words, optimism, and fortitude to endure the dark times and to accompany us in this journey.
The decision to choose both colors is a way of embodying hope with the reality we are going through.
Illuminating yellow is the second yellow shade selected by the Pantone Institute to be the color of the year.
Its most accurate definition is it is a vibrant yellow, a similar shade of the lemon peel, an injection of strength and optimism.
Vibrancy and joy for the near future.
On the other hand, this is the first time a gray has had the honor of being mentioned the color of the year.
And this is not a depressing gray, it reflects with practicality and solidity. A citrus yellow boosts and vitalizes this mid-range grey.
These two colors complement and uplift each other energy and strength work together to have a clearer future. Do you the combinatiton? Does it reflect the situation we are facing?<
Love and peace
