Easter in Spain is full of traditions, many of them connected with religion. Some of the most important are the Holy Week processions which are based on the heritage and medieval celebrations  which connect with religious and military traditions. Cities like Seville, Zamora or Malaga have the best Easter processions.

However, Madrid also has some important processions and today we want to  attend. So since this is a very solemn event I decided to wear an all black ensemble.

I wore a long sleeve little black dress and a lace duster, both creations by HM+ from last year. For accesories long amethyst earrings and ring as well as fishnet stockings with black ballerina flats.

The weather according to the Catholic tradition has been sunny – it is based on the belief that three Thursdays in the year must be sunny and bright Holy Thursday, Corpus Christi  and Ascension Day. Here you have some pictures on the processions as well as my outfit.

Las tradiciones españolas en Semana Santa se basan en las procesiones y en los ritos de Pascua. Hoy día de Jueves Santo hemos decidido participar en las procesiones de Madrid. Como se trata de un acto solemne he decidido ponerme “de luto riguroso” eligiendo un vestido de manga larga negro sobre el que coloqué un guardapolvo de encaje negro. Ambas prendas corresponden a la colección de primavera verano del año pasado de HM+ por lo que no hay equivalentes similares este año. Para restar seriedad al conjunto, me puse unas medias de red ancha negras junto con unas manoletinas para estar cómoda entre la multitud.

Aquí os dejo algunas fotografías de la Procesión de Jesús el Pobre que salió esta tarde por el Madrid de los Austrias. Es un Cristo al que se tiene gran devoción compitiendo con el Jesús de Medinaceli que procesionará mañana, Viernes Santo.
